About the event
Come learn about the wild edible and medicinal plants that surround our farms, gardens, and community spaces with herbalist Kat Mackinnon. We will be exploring the wonderful Three Leaf Farm along Coal Creek in Lafayette!
Along with botanical identification, we’ll be digging into medicinal uses, ecology, harvesting, poisonous plants, wild edible plant recipes, and more! We’ll also explore using the senses to identify plant constituents, and how to read the landscape to find your wild foods and medicines.
This class is rain or shine, so come with rain gear and layers! Bring a notebook and pencil, and a reusable cup for coffee :)
Schedule for the day:
Coffee/refreshments: 9:30am - 10am
Herb Tour/Class: 10am - 12pm

More about Kat Mackinnon:
Kat is a Registered Herbalist with the American Herbalists Guild and a certified clinical
herbalist and nutritionist from the North American Institute of Medical Herbalism,
where she studied under Paul Bergner.
She teaches workshops on herbalism, wild foods, and botany, while also running her
clinical practice through Meet the Green. Approaching her work from a Vitalist
perspective, Kat believes in the intelligent life force within us all.
For 12 years, she worked at the Colorado School of Clinical Herbalism in Boulder and
Lafayette, CO, where she served as faculty and Clinical Program Director. Originally
from the East Coast, she has a passion for bioregional herbalism, especially the herbs and
ecology of the Southwest.
