About the event
Join Zach Hedstrom, owner of Boulder Mushroom, for an in-depth exploration on how to incorporate mushrooms and beneficial fungi into regenerative farm systems. In addition to being a tasty & nutritious food crop, mushrooms also serve as an asset to soil health by increasing biological activity and assisting nutrient flow and moisture retention.
In this workshop, we will explore low-tek mushroom cultivation methods which can be employed to produce mushroom crops from unused spaces on the farm. We will discuss on-farm biomass as a substrate for mushroom growth, and how to effectively receive the various benefits mushroom mycelium can add to our soil. The class will conclude with a tour of Ollin Farms to view their low-tek mushroom cultivation system, fungal biomass installations, and Left Hand creek soil rehabilitation sites in action.
This event will be in-person and capped at 35 attendees. Current and aspiring producers are encouraged to attend.
