About the event
Date: Sunday, March 9th 2-4pm MDT (Note: it's on Daylight Savings so update your clocks!)
Location: Lyons Farmette (4121 Ute Hwy Longmont, CO)
Topic: Building Biology Through Inputs Roundtable
Description: Biology nerds, fermentation freaks, and normal (but curious) humans, UNITE! Biological inputs (think: compost, compost tea or extract, biofertilizers, plant extracts, worm tea, biochar, Korean Natural Farming, etc.) can be a great way to boost your soil and plant health, but you might have questions like:
Where do I start?
Which one do I choose?
Will it even work?
What kind of equipment do I need?
You might also be thinking, what the heck are you talking about?
Join us for a Sunday afternoon roundtable where we'll first get a broad overview of the big wide world of biologicals, then we'll break into small groups and discuss your lived experience, concerns, and curiosities. Bring your questions and a friend!
Facilitator: While participants will largely guide conversation, host Taylor Muglia (she/her) will be presenting a short overview on biological inputs and will provide resources for you to dive in further on this topic. Taylor is a student at the Integrity Soils CREATE Program, a manager of the New Agrarian Program at Quivira Coalition, a part-time farm hand at the Lyons Farmette, and the kind of person who once funneled 10 lbs of cow sh*t into a barrel with some other strange ingredients to let it ferment for a month. She loves opportunities to talk about soil health and low-cost methods to grow healthy plants and animals.
