About the event
Join Head Beekeeper Chris Borke of Boulder Valley Honey for a hands-on beekeeping workshop! No experience in working bees necessary and suits, gloves, and beekeeping tools will be provided as you learn about the behaviors and husbandry of the European honeybee. In this workshop you will have the opportunity to explore a beehive frame-by-frame under the guidance of an experienced beekeeper, learn about the products of the beehive, and better understand the role they play in local ecosystems. Please bring a drink, sunscreen, and a tall pair of boots to tuck the full-body suits into.
This event will be in-person and capped at 10 attendees. If you are interested in attending and the event is full, please sign up for the waitlist since we may hold this event more than once. Current and aspiring producers are encouraged to attend.
Note: Scholarships are offered for this event. We recognize that money may be a limiting factor to whether people can attend these workshops or not; we hope that a scholarship can help to alleviate any financial barriers you may be experiencing in attending our educational events.
